Prophet Time Continuum

The Prophet Time Continuum is the moment when any planet or civilisation restarts its yearly count from a new prophet.

The reason for this is not just in any favour of prophethood but is also a most logical readjustment, since in thousands of years to come, when the year exceeds 5 digits or more, merely speaking the year would take a very long and tiring time.

Moreover there is a problem with even abbreviating the year. Take for example the expected year of 3,748,382,496 AD. The only feasible way to shorten it, would be to write 3.7bl/6, 6 being the final digit and current year. But if one does that then we would have multiple records of the same date, since the numbers in between are still of critical value.

Indeed we may have very advanced computers in the future, but anything that is programmable is also subject to error and so a written or spoken medium would also be common practice.

Thus it only seems logical that when a new prophet becomes recognised and as someone honourable, providing his philosophy is in keeping with that of prophethood, we restart the yearly count from his birth date.

Of course we needn't do this every time someone who is endorsed gains followers since that might be far too often, however an appropriate event would be once every ten thousand years, when we choose the most recently endorsed or recognised teacher through that time period, and suffix the date with the prophet's initials.

For example if we were to start counting from Jepps' birth, the year 2011 AD would in fact become 32 SJ.

Of course the period of engaging the continuum is not set in stone and any planet or civilisation can realise the adjustment whenever they feel is appropriate. For example once every thousand years or even simply when they feel another honourable teacher has come forth.

Having a continuum makes it easier to associate a current date with one another. If it is really necessary to work out the exact year during previous prophets' era, we merely do some simple maths, or even just refer to a chart, instead of trying to keep track of and pronounce all these hugely long numbers.
